The life you want has a price
Every version of your life costs you something. Becoming who you want to be isn’t only about what you add—it’s also about having the courage to release what no longer belongs.

Every version of your life costs you something. For the most part growth requires giving up habits, access, comfort, routines, and sometimes relationships that fit the old version of you. ’
Oftentimes people will talk about what they want, but aren't able to walk the walk, you have to be willing to release what's not working to get to that next level. I completely understand wanting a different life, but still being attached to the one you already know. A lot of time, It can feel like you're being lazy, and that's what's keeping you stuck, but in reality, it’s your reluctance to let go that's keeping you from where you want to be.
Your next level will require you to disappoint people who benefitted from the old version of you, but all you need to do is focus on the woman you want to become and if they love you they’ll hopefully get board and if not, FUCK EM. On a serious note you’ll just need to surround yourself with a tribe of people on the same wave length as you.
Sometimes the price of becoming who you want to be is no longer being understood by everyone who knew the old you. You may become less available, less likely to explain your every move, less impulsive, and less comfortable. When you’re raising your standards it's not about just adding better habits. its about removing what no longer belongs, and that can be things like emotional baggage, limiting beliefs, old habits and routines, and even physical clutter.
At the end of the day, every “yes” to the woman you’re becoming creates a “no” somewhere else.
Journal prompt:
What am I asking my future self to carry that my current self is still refusing to release?
